JAMES HUCKENPAHLER Mindless Pleasures James Huckenpahler exploits the capabilities of 3-dimensional digital rendering software to create digital drawings that evoke molecular activity, geographic layers, and the simulated surfaces of modern design. Huckenpahler intentionally mis-uses the software to achieve images that are at once abstract and suggestive of fantastic environments. DAVID BYRNE Furnishing the Self - Upholstering the Soul [Chairs] David Byrne plays with the notions of fine art and functional design through his approach to the image and design of chairs. The exhibition features Byrne's chair drawings embroidered onto upholstery fabric, photographs of chairs, as well as chair sculptures made out of out of mundane materials such as macaroni noodles and paper pulp. back |
